What's All The Hype (about Skype)

Skype always kinda freaked me out a bit. Am I the only one who has the fear that my lap top video camera is always on and some rogue worm program has hidden itself in my hard drive and is unbeknownst to me, transmitting my scary bed head self to the world (in my bad undies)? Seriously the whole video conferencing phenomenon was kind of out of my realm. I mean sure - it's great to use to chat with friends & family when they are far away, but I kind of felt like I could do that on IM or with a chat program. And yes I am sure it is great for video sex, but alas my husband lives with me so - not much use for that in my world, plus again a rogue worm program in my lap top comes to mind.  So I still wasn't sold until I realized I could take stretching, pole and a host of other neat classes on Skype! Here's a few of my choice finds (taken by either myself or trustworthy friends). Not all online/Skype/Oovoo experiences are created equal. I have heard numerous stories of people being ripped off or highly disappointed - and remember there a LOT of options out there to choose from so please do you homework and ask around.

Video Conferencing:

Flexibility & Stretching Classes:

Emil  of  The Valentino Brothers -  I have taken classes with Emil and love them. He offers classes in Front Splits, Side Splits, Forward Bending, Outward Joints, Back Bending and Inward Joints. Privates are available. I love his style of teaching as well as the fact that he is very visible/accessible on Facebook, teaches numerous pole students and is extremely supportive of his students whether novices or pros. His Brother Mario teaches as well. Items needed for class - yoga mat/towel, yoga blocks, computer with video cam, Oovoo account & a good attitude! (having a pole is helpful but not necessary).

Ellen Kaplan Lovelace Offers resistance stretching via Skype. Ellen is trained by the same resistance stretchers who work with Olympic Gold Medal swimmer Dara Torres every day. Lessons in self-stretching are available as well as hands-on assisted stretching sessions. Private one on one sessions are done via Skype or on location. Small group workshops are also available.

Pole Dancing Classes:

SKITTLES  2011's Miss Pole Vixen Atlanta, winner of the Bad Kitty Exotic Wear's Trix Battle at the International Pole Convention in Palm Beach Florida offers one-on-one Pole Lessons or Conditioning Classes via Skype.

Pole Privates or classes with Pantera·Blacksmith not much more to say then AWESOME!

Jennifer of Poleskivvies  This class has an emphasis on "dance" . Jennifer states on her website "These classes teach presence and expression to enhance your pole dancing, but they do not teach the pole moves, themselves." This is great because so often people forgo the actual dance aspect of pole dancing.

Online Classes:

Pole Dancing Classes: While these are not interactive they give the "at home poler" additional options...
